What exactly is Weid?

Weid is a chess playing computer program written in the C++ programming language. Weid uses the UCI (Universal Chess Interface) protocol to communicate with a user interface.


How old is Weid?

I started working on Weid the 2nd of July 2005.


What does "Weid" mean?

The name comes from the PIE (Proto-Indo-European) root *weid- meaning to see or to know (ergo the eye as the logo). It is also the first four letters of my surname.


When will Weid be released to the public?

I plan to have a public release ready before the end of the year.
